Dance
Lesson Questions
Here Are The Twelve Questions Most Frequently Asked By Prospective
New Students:
Can I learn to dance?
Dancing is as easy as walking once you are taught by an Arthur
Murray expert. Hundreds of thousands have been successfully trained
in Arthur Murray Dance Studios. There is no age limit. Our oldest
students are over 70. The youngest are in their teens. The great
majority are in their 20's, 30's, 40's and 50's.
Will it take long?
The length of your course depends on how many dances you would like
to learn and how proficient you would like to become in each dance.
However, you will be able to dance after your first lesson!
Is your system of teaching difficult?
We teach five basic movements, from which the new combinations are
derived.
How much do lessons cost?
The cost depends on a number of factors: how good you want to be;
what dances you want to learn; the number of days and weeks in your
dance schedule, etc. After your first lesson, your instructor will
be in a better position to recommend a program, and you will have
the knowledge to make an intelligent and informed choice.
Does the fee have to be paid in advance?
There are several convenient methods of payment available. We accept
Cash, Check, Visa and Mastercard.
Will I learn the latest steps?
You can learn the very latest steps in any or all social dances.
Swing, Salsa, Cha-Cha, Waltz, Tango, Rumba, Fox Trot, etc.
Will I have to return each year to learn the newest steps?
After getting a good foundation, you will be able to analyze the new
steps and pick them up yourself without difficulty. However, many
students return because they enjoy their lessons and the friends and
confidence they've acquired.
May I take lessons at any time convenient to me?
Yes! Our school is open from 1:00pm until 10:00pm, Monday through
Friday and 10:00am until 2:00pm Saturdays. Just call us at
770-951-8811 to make an appointment for your first visit.
Will I have a good teacher?
All of our instructors are qualified. To become an Arthur Murray
teacher, they must complete a most arduous training regimen. The
teachers selected for you are ones who best suit your personality
and dancing needs.
What benefits do I receive?
Dancing is our first line of social activity. Good dancing is a
lifetime investment in fun, poise, confidence, improved personality
and new friends. Beyond these, dancing is a superb physical
conditioner - providing fun without working at it! It opens up a
wonderful new world of togetherness and a thriving year-round social
calendar.
Do I need a
partner to take lessons?
No. We have accommodations for singles and couples and for dancers
of all levels.
Do I need special clothes or shoes?
We recommend that you dress comfortably and wear shoes with a smooth
sole. We do not advise tennis shoes, shoes with rubber grip soles,
or shoes that may slip off your feet such as mules or flip flops.
